Transit Bill Update01-Dec-2011
Although lawmakers have not discussed any details, speculators are discussing potential inclusions and changes to this bill. The DC Streetsblog reported of several issues that might be included within the bill based on testimony provided to the Senate Banking Committee this past May from FTA Administrator Peter Rogoff and APTA past-president Bill Millar. Of the three issues, two would directly impact Idaho’s transit providers:
1. Increased flexibility for spending on operating costs for population areas above 200,000; and,
2. Consolidation of specialized transportation funding, which would merge Job Access and Reverse Commute, New Freedom, and Elderly and Disabled Formula.
CTAI staff will continue to monitor and keep you updated about any changes to transportation legislation.
