The recording of the CUTR webcast, Potential Impacts of Federal Health Care Reform on Public Transit, is now available for viewing .
On October 17, 2013, Antonio Santalucia, project manager with ICF International and Bethany Whitaker, principal with Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates Inc., shared the results of research designed to assess the potential impacts of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on public transit agencies and services. This research, which was sponsored by the Transportation Research Board, was conducted in the year following the law’s enactment in 2011 and was completed shortly after the Supreme Court’s ruling on the ACA in June 2012. The primary focus of the research and this webcast was on the ACA’s expansion of the Medicaid program and the implications for transit agencies that participate in the provision of non-emergency medical transportation for Medicaid participants.
