POCATELLO REGIONAL TRANSIT TURNS 40 - BUILDING NEW FACILITY

30-Nov-2012

In the December 2012 issue of the Mayor’s Newsletter, written by Brian Blad, Mayor of Pocatello highlighted Pocatello Regional Transit’s (PRT) 40 years of service. The City of Pocatello created PRT in 1982 as a result of growth in the city. The service established included not only fixed route bus service but also special services. By 1988, PRT received additional requests to expand its services into the rural counties of Southeast Idaho, and the city and PRT stepped up to meet that challenge. Recently, PRT received funding for a new transit facility. Final design for a new facility is nearly complete, and construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2013.

We would like to congratulate PRT, CTAI member and partner, for the great job they do in providing transit service for Pocatello and neighboring communities in Southeast Idaho!
