PROCLAMATION TO BE ISSUED AT COUNCIL MEETING
Mayor Brian Blad has authorized a proclamation to be read at the June 21, 2012 City Council meeting. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
The proclamation recognizes June 21, 2012 as Dump the Pump Day in Pocatello and encourages citizens to utilize public transportation instead of driving. Riding Pocatello Regional Transit buses can be an economical option to driving, particularly when gas prices are high. Public transportation not only saves money, but it also reduces traffic congestion, provides economic opportunities, reduces gasoline consumption, reduces harmful carbon emissions, improves air quality, and enhances personal opportunities, access, and mobility for people from every walk of life.
The proclamation is being issued at the request of Pocatello Regional Transit in association with the American Public Transit Association and the Community Transportation Association of Idaho.
