Idaho’s 2012 Infrastructure Report Card Released16-Mar-2012 According to the recently released 2012 Report Card for Idaho’s infrastructure, “Transit in Idaho is safe and relatively efficient, but lacks the accessibility and funding to meet the needs.” This is not new information for transportation providers around the state. During the release event, ITD Chief Engineer, Tom Cole, urged legislators to work to improve the deficiencies in all areas, and look to see where funding could be dedicated to improve transit and highways.
CTAI hosted a graduate intern from Boise State University to obtain and analyze the data and draft the Transit section of the Report Card. The recommendation made in the transit section emphasizes a need for a “significant amount of funding in the future to have a sustainable system that meets the fixed-route and demand response needs of Idaho communities.”
