Rep. King is drafting a bill that would allow High Occupancy Vehicle lanes in metropolitan areas. The intent of this bill is to allow HOV lanes in the metropolitan areas of the state as well as to allow access to the HOV lane by ITD maintenance vehicles performing maintenance on the median or in the lane. As it is currently, the use of HOV lanes is restricted to counties with populations of less than 25,000 people or cities designated as "resort towns" such as SunValley.
